Crispy Chickpea Nuggets

You all know about nuggets. Who doesn’t love nuggets, from kids to adults these are perfect finger food for little eaters. These are easy to make and are loaded with extra veggies and protein. So let’s jump to see how to make Crispy Chickpea Nuggets.

Ingredients:

  • 250g chickpeas (boiled)
  • 2 cloves of garlic (paste or chopped)
  • 1 medium sized onion (chopped)
  • ½ cup of oats
  • 2 tsp flax seeds
  • 5 tsp of water
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • Salt and pepper (as per taste)
  • Oil for frying
  • ¼ cup of carrot, 3-4 curry leaves, chutney or sauce (optional)

Preparation:

  1. We need to mix all the ingredients in a food processor and pulse a few times to combine. DO NOT OVER MIX. Mixture should be wet but still be scoop-able
  2. Rest it for 30 min
  3. Form the dough in pieces and roll them in a sesame seeds
  4. Heat the cooking pan in a large pan over medium flame. Now add these patties and cook them for 3-5 min
  5. Flip them using your spatula to flatten them a bit. Cook over for another 3-5 min or until the outside of nuggets are golden crispy
  6. Serve them with your favourite tomato sauce or chutney

Tips:

  • Do avoid ketchup or use sugar free one (homemade) for gluten free.
