Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched a new platform under tax assessment reforms to ease the burden and to honor the honest taxpayers of the country. “The country’s honest taxpayer plays a big role in nation-building. A faceless tax system will give the taxpayer confidence on fairness and fearlessness,” the Prime Minister said in a video address after rolling out the ”Transparent Taxation – Honoring the Honest” platform in a big push for tax reforms.
Tax assessment platform has big reforms such as faceless assessment, faceless appeal, and taxpayers charter. Faceless assessment & taxpayers charter come in force from today, whereas faceless appeal service will be available from September 25, which is Deen Dayal Upadhyaya’s birth anniversary, and the initiatives will strengthen the efforts of “reforming and simplifying our tax system”.
The Income Tax department will adopt a ‘taxpayer charter’ which outlines the rights and responsibilities of both tax officers and taxpayers.
